Star Class Caribbean Resort Sandals to Reopen Next Month with New Extreme Protocols

Sandals, the exquisite star class resort in the Caribbean is currently in preparation for welcoming its guests back with ‘open arms’, that’s right with open arms, however, the resort will have some stringent regulations in place to prevent the spread of the virus

The Jamaican operator intends to reopen most of its resorts by the 4th of June, followed by reopening its Bahamas properties on the 1st of July. The hotel management has indicated that strict regulations will be imposed on both the resort staff and as well as the guests. Temperatures checks for team members has been a mandatory regulation since the discovery of Covid-19. The guests may now directly check-in online and head straight to their rooms upon arrival.

The Caribbean resort has implemented state of the art hygiene practices across 18 key touchpoints says the hotel’s manager. Guests now could directly check-in online and head straight to their rooms. They also include back-of-house facilities, such as storerooms and offices through the entirety of the resort. All hard surfaces within the premises will be observed and disinfected at 20-minute intervals with scheduled inspections. Additional hand sanitizing stations will be provided throughout the resorts.

All in-room items, which guests come in contact with from – room keycards to cocktails will be thoroughly disinfected upon use. Hospital-grade disinfectants will be used during this process while electrical aerosol sprayers will be introduced for advanced cleaning, and UV-LED lighting equipment will be used to inspect cleanliness. Air duct sanitisation will be employed for each arrival and upon each departure, weekly steam-cleaning and sanitisation of carpeting will take place, and there will be a placement of anti-bacterial gels and soaps in each guest room.

The resort are introducing new ways to facilitate and offer optimal safety to their guests. Sandals have included additional airport transfers with fewer guests per vehicle in order to maintain social distancing more effectively. Checking times between visitors have also been extended, while bars, beaches and restaurants will also maintain social distancing habits. Elevator trips will be restricted to one couple per trip at Sandals Resorts and one family per trip at Beaches Resorts, with staff members taking alternate routes.

All hotel staff will wear protective face masks and gloves at all times when at the resorts. Uniforms will be worn only at the resort premises. Each staff member will need to undergo temperature checks before each shift in addition to stringent medical clearance. Vendors, suppliers and partners will also be held to the new standards. To provide increased health reassurance, each of the resorts will be equipped with medical stations staffed daily with a registered nurse and 24/7 on-call medical personnel.
