New Zealand Eases Lockdown Measures as Country ‘Recovers’

New Zealand has started easing out its lockdown regulations as of Monday the 27th of April. Residents will now be able to commute to work, spend time outside and order take-outs as normal, the country is set to be gradually returning to its ‘normal’ status.

The move from level 4 measures to level 3 came as Jacinda Ardern, the prime minister, was forced to clarify that her country had not eradicated Covid-19 but was working towards its elimination. She stated that despite lockdown being eased the citizens were still advised to take precaution to prevent a secondary spread of the virus.
